31 Weeks

How Far Along: 31 weeks!

Size of baby: my apps still says the size of a head of lettuce but now 18-19 inches long and 4 pounds. Have you ever seen a 19 inch long head of lettuce that weighs 4 pounds? I don't think I have.

Maternity Clothes: Maternity pants all the way and of course my yoga pants. Maternity shirts now too. Growing out of some maternity shirts now. Running out of lounge clothes.

Gender: Aaron Marcous

Movement: Still moving throughout the day. Movement is getting more uncomfortable. He still loves to stay in my ribs on the right side. Right now he is bawled up on that side and it makes my stomach look uneven. Oh well, I'm okay with it until he starts pushing against them then I'm not a fan.

What I miss: Doing anything easily without getting tired of short or breath

Sleep: I slept well this week. Crazy dreams again. Last night I dreamed I gave birth and it was SEVEN babies!! Needless to say it was overwhelming.

Symptoms: Just tired and always HOT!!! Ready to hit the pool soon

Cravings: I really wanted Marble Slab cheese cake ice cream with snickers for 3 days. There are no Marble Slabs in Lamar county. But I did breakdown and get a snickers blast from Sonic after my doctors appointment yesterday and that seemed to be okay but still not Marble Slab.

I did see the doctor Thursday. Everything looked good. My blood pressure was a little higher than last time but he said was within normal for someone that is as pregnant as I am. Plus I still have not had any swelling so he was pleased. We even talked about delivery which was the first time. Can't believe its time to talk about that. He said if my blood pressure stays on this track then he will let me go into labor on my own. I have to see a couple other doctors in the practice on my next two visits which I am not thrilled about but then I will be back with mine until the end. I also asked him if he was going on vacation anytime this summer. Thankfully he just got back last week and said he has no plans to leave. He also told me he has every intention of delivering Aaron. Think he is scared that I was telling the truth when I told him I would show up at his house if he wasn't working when I went into labor.

30 Weeks

How Far Along: 30 weeks!!! Feels like we are in the home stretch now.

Size of baby: the size of a head of lettuce (i think the produce is getting weirder and weirder). He is about 18 inches long and over 3 pounds now

Maternity Clothes: Maternity pants all the way and of course my yoga pants. Maternity shirts now too. Growing out of some maternity shirts now. Running out of lounge clothes.

Gender: Aaron Marcous

Movement: Still moving alot all throughout the day. One day he wasn't as active but decided to wake up as soon as I laid down to go to sleep. He woke me up several times that night.

What I miss: I really miss sleeping on my belly. Last night Stephen got in bed and rolled right over on his stomach. I asked him "is that comfortable?" He said, "No, its horrible. You would hate it." --how sweet for him to lie to me

Sleep: Comes and goes. Im hot and uncomfortable. I have just come to accept this as the new normal. Stephen is fussing about all my pillows and me waking him up too. Oh well.

Symptoms: TIRED!!! I think I took 3 naps this week and already planning one for this afternoon. As soon as lunch hits I'm exhausted.

Cravings: I have wanted alot of fruit this week. It's so hot I have not wanted to cook. We have had lots of sandwiches and fruit. Stephen is looking for a real meal sometime soon. Guess I should do something about that.

Nothing new to report this week. I have been having more Braxton Hicks contractions. Apparently I was having them for a few weeks but did not know thats what they were. They are not that painful but my belly gets really really tight and just uncomfortable. I can usually walk around for a minute and they go away. I go to the doctor next week. Not sure if it is a quick checkup or what. I'm ready for another ultrasound so see how he is laying. I can't figure out what are kicks and what are punches to know if he is breech or not. Still have a few weeks before my doctor said he will worry about it. Think they want him in position by 36 weeks.

Nursery Preview

The nursery is definitely not finished by any means but it is at least livable now. We worked on it for awhile today. Now I want to go out and buy those cute decorative things to finish it up. Here are just a few pictures I took today with my phone so not the best quality but my feet were too tired to walk to the other end of the house to get my camera. Sorry, just saying. Ill get better pictures when its all done.

Here is the bedding. We got the mattress this week (Thanks, inlaws!) and got the bedding back also (thanks mom for transporting it back and forth!). Its brighter in person. It's very happy looking. I'm pleased with it.
Yes, the bed moved from the first picture to this one. I got Stephen to move it to the opposite wall today so that you see it when you walk in the room and you don't have to peak around the door to see it. The shelves are not staying above the bed. Don't worry. They were just still there from when this room was an office and Stephen has not taken them down yet.

The other side- changing table and the bassinet for now. It will be in our room when we get home from the hospital.

We got our dresser this week. This was actually in my nursery when I was a baby. Thinking about painting it but not sure what color yet. Think maybe a pale blue and then antiquing it. Also changing up the hardware. Oh well, maybe next weekend. (Did you feel Stephen rolling his eyes and sighing there? haha)

29 Weeks!

How Far Along: 29 weeks

Size of baby: the size of a butternut squash- not much bigger than last week but apparently he had a lot of brain growth this week to make up for it.

Maternity Clothes: Maternity pants all the way and of course my yoga pants. Maternity shirts now too. Growing out of some maternity shirts now. Running out of lounge clothes.

Gender: Aaron Marcous

Movement: Moving alot. Started doing kick counts this week. He is supposed to have 10 kicks an hour and he usually gets all 10 in about 20 mins. He is very active.

What I miss: Not being so tired and being able to take a full breath. He is loving sitting right in my ribs right now. Also miss not having to go to the bathroom every time I think about it.

Sleep: It was hit and miss again this week. Cannot get comfortable. Last night I was so HOT, even with two fans and no covers on me. I finally gave up early this morning and took a cool shower.

Symptoms: NESTING!!!! It has hit big time and Stephen is not a fan. I turn into a crazy person. Problem is it usually hits late at night about the time he wants to chill and go to bed. We did get alot done today. I got up early and started cleaning before he even got up. I just asked him a minute ago to please dust the fire place! Yes! I know only a crazy person could ask this but its driving me BANANAS! And there is no way I can get on the floor and clean it like it needs to be done. I told him just don't fight it. Its just how its going to be right now. He keeps asking me if I'm tired and if I want to go take a nap. Haha! Poor thing wants a break from the crazy lady.

Cravings: Some days I do not want to eat at all. The next day I'm STARVING! Today I cannot seem to get full. Hard to keep eating healthy and be satisfied. I seemed to want junk right now. I may have bought a new half gallon of blue bell today at the store.

28 Weeks

How Far Along: 28 weeks

Size of baby: the size of a cabbage- 17 inches long and 3 lbs

Maternity Clothes: Maternity pants all the way and of course my yoga pants. Maternity shirts now too. Had to get some new maternity tank tops this week because my belly was starting to hang out the bottom of my regular ones.

Gender: Aaron Marcous

Movement: Moving moving moving all the time! He really liked when we were at the LSU/Bama baseball game yesterday. He moved alot!

What I miss: Sleeping or just laying on my stomach

Sleep: Much better since Dr. Otey said I can take benadryl whenever I need it to help me sleep. Last night was not much fun. I woke up at least 10 times with leg cramps.

Symptoms: Not much patience this weeks still. And especially on the road. Road rage is not attractive. Hope this passes but I think it may just be here til the end.

Cravings: I wanted sweet things all week because I was trying not to eat anything before my glucose test.

Went to the doctor Friday. Had the dreaded glucose test and I have to say it was not as bad as I had heard/read. I had the tropical punch drink and they had it very cold. I was there right as another patient was to take the test so we drank it together and then waited and visited until our labs were drawn. And....drumroll please.....I passed!!! By alot! I was so happy. We got a great report. All my other labs were right on track along with my weight. Dr. Otey said that if he could pick the first week what he wanted me to look like at 28 weeks that I was exactly as he would have chosen. He told me to keep doing what I am doing. Aaron still tried to hide from the doppler and kicked it every time they pressed it to my belly. His heart rate was 150 this time. Dr. Otey said he is pretty sure we will have a very active little boy on our hands. Great! Maybe it will just make me skinnier as I chase behind him. Or we can just drop him off at his grandparents to run that energy off and then pick him up a few hours later. We are supposed to go back in a couple weeks.
