10 Weeks

How Far Along: Started week 10 last Friday

Size of baby: the size of a prune

Maternity Clothes: Not yet. But I am saving my birthday/Christmas money. I really need to go soon. I have started pooching out. Im down to two pairs of jeans that fit but are getting more uncomfortable everyday. Still living in yoga pants as soon as I get home. I may try to go this week or next. Maybe we will have a belly picture in the next few weeks.

Gender: I still go back and forth

Movement: Not yet. Still too early.

What I miss: EATING! and not getting sick! I have been getting really frustrated with trying to eat enough but not eat too much and make myself sick. There is a very fine line right now.

Sleep: I have been waking up very early. Usually to run to the potty but have not been able to go back to sleep.

Symptoms: Tired and continue to be more nauseated than the previous weeks. Counting down the weeks until the second trimester. Funny thing I learned this week. When my mom was pregnant with me, she always got sick in the evening/night just like I do.

Cravings: I have been wanting summer foods. I could really go for a fresh home grown tomato on a BLT and a big slice of cold watermelon. I can't find any of this in December. Boo! We did go to the movies this weekend and I ate a ton of popcorn and was so happy I had found something that I loved. However, we had to rush home because it all made me sick so maybe I won't do that again.

Just over a week until we head to the doctor!! Yea!! I'm getting very nervous. Ready to hear the heart beat. I know I feel pregnant and my belly is starting to grow, but I can't wait to see that baby moving all over the ultrasound screen and heart its tiny heart beating.

Baby's First Gift

DB got his/her first gift this weekend. I am already thinking how cute a little boy would be with the onesie and jeans. Or a little girl in a cute little skirt or leg warmers. Ha ha! We even cleared out a specific place in our house to keep all the baby things. This was weird. We are really starting to look at the house and what we need and do not need once the baby gets here. I already started a pile for a garage sale we plan on having in the spring ( and no, Mom, the above outfit is NOT in the garage sale pile :p)

Week 9

How Far Along: 9 weeks

Size of baby: the size of a green olive

Maternity Clothes: Not yet. But I have started saving my birthday money for them. Will probably have to start looking in January.

Gender: Last night I dreamed it was a girl and we named her Sadie Grace.

Movement: Not yet. Still too early

What I miss: Having energy. I have really been tired this week. Feel like Im walking around in a daze.

Sleep: No problems this week. Slept 12 hours last night!

Symptoms: Tired and more nausea this week than I have had in the past weeks.

Cravings: Nothing weird this week. I have had a hard time finding anything that I want to eat this week. I have had a lot of fruit though. I can always eat that seems like.

Only 3 more weeks until we go to the doctor! Yea! Stephen is actually missing the first day of school to go with me. We are ready to hear the heart beat and start spreading the good news. Tired of keeping it a secret.

8 Weeks

How Far Along: 8 weeks

Size of baby: the size of a raspberry

Weight Gain: I actually did weigh this week. And I will say it was only 2 pounds. This may be the only time I say this :)

Maternity Clothes: Not yet. But I have started saving my birthday money for them. Will probably have to start looking in January.

Gender: I say boy but who knows. Can't wait to find out!

Movement: Not yet. Still too early

What I miss: Still just wish my pallet would come back. Im so hungry but do not want food. I am very tired of special K bars, gold fish crackers, peanut butter sandwiches and saltines.

Sleep: No problems this week. In fact, I just took a 3 hour nap while the city was repaving the road right outside my window.

Symptoms: Very tired the last two days. I Wednesday I actually felt almost normal all day then by 8:30 I was in the bed. The nausea has been worse this week too. Counting down the days until second trimester.

Cravings: These were all random this week- coconut cream pie, fresh peach, dill pick chips (this has been for two weeks now), SUSHI!!! I want Japanese so badly. I told Stephen today I need something with soy sauce on it sometime soon.

We have made it to 8 week! This was a little goal I had for myself. Yea!!

Week 7

How Far Along: 7 weeks
Size of baby: 0.25 inches long- the size of a blueberry
Weight Gain: Do you really think I would tell that!? Haha! Actually, I have not weighed. Decided as much as I cry right now it might not be the best idea but all of my clothes fit the same.
Maternity Clothes: Not yet. But I have started saving my birthday money for them. Will probably have to start looking in January.
Gender: I say boy but who knows. Can't wait to find out!
Movement: Not yet. Still too early
What I miss: Caffeine! And wanting food. Nothing is really appealing right now. Tonight I did inhale a bacon cheese burger like I had not eaten in days. I made the mistake of skipping lunch to crash and take a nap. DB let me know that that is not an option anymore. Most times, I am hungry but nothing sounds good to me. Also miss doing things at my old "Casey" speed! Get frustrated when I cannot get multiple things done without getting tired.
Sleep: I was just bragging to Stephen yesterday that I had been sleeping so well. Then last night, I woke up at 3 am and could not get comfortable so I ended up on the couch watching infomercials. I can take a nap like a kindergardener though! I have enjoyed that.
Symptoms: Very exhausted. Crying over silly thing, then laughing about it. Nauseated off and on all day. And other symptoms that you just really don't want to know about.

This week DB is now 10,000 times bigger than at conception! I can't believe it!!! Growing so quickly. This week its arms and legs are forming. Also its brain cells are generating at the rate of 100 cells per minute! Its going to be a genius! We are dying to go the doctor and have that first ultrasound. I am sad we don't go until almost 12 weeks but am happy that it means that the ultrasound will be so fun because it will actually look like a baby and not a blob by that point! So ready to hear the heart beat and just take a deep breath.

Ill try to do weekly post like this and will start to post pictures of the belly once I'm showing. For now I will just post a picture of the size of the baby.

Happy Birthday, Momma!

I guess DB is just trying to wish me a happy birthday and remind me that I have a little one growing inside of me. I woke up with morning sickness for the first time today :(. What a great birthday present this year! Ha ha! Just trying to remember that that means the baby is doing well. I up early to eat a snack and have been sitting here reading all my birthday wishes on facebook.

You know you are pregnant when...

You know you are pregnant when this is what rides around in the floorboard of your car:

You know you are pregnant when you eat lunch at 10:30 because you feel like if you don't, you really might die:

Telling the Pourciaus

So we FINALLY got to tell my parents and Leigh this week. I had been avoiding all three for the last week on the phone so I would not give the secret away before we saw them in person this week. We had talked about different ways to share the news and I read about this idea online. My mom thought it was funny how you can google ways to tell your parents you are pregnant. What we did was get my family to take a picture with me. Stephen had the camera and said "Okay on the count of three every one say Casey's pregnant!" Ha ha! It was perfect. Leigh started screaming and crying. Dad was shocked. Mom, who did not cry when I went to college or at my wedding, just starts bawling! Ugly crying. We all got so tickled watching her. Needless to say, none of them saw that coming. It feels even more real now that they know. Glad we are not having to keep it a secret from them. We are still keeping it hush hush until we go to the MD in January. Just a few more weeks to go. We are now 6 weeks along and DB is the size of a sweet pea! Its grown so fast. It was the size of a poppy seed when we found out!

This is the exact moment. Love their expressions. Leigh was still trying to pose. Mom was completely surprised. Dad was half smiling for the pictures and half confused. Wish we had recorded it all to have on video too.

New photo edits

Bama or LSU??

I could not resist taking a picture with this yesterday. Ha ha! I know the Pourciaus will have a fit when they see this. No, we have not decided if this baby will pull for the Tide or the Tigers. We will have to do alot of prayer and search the scriptures to make this decision for Doodle Bug. Ha ha! Maybe we can decide by July. Hope so!

Telling the Inlaws

Mt Harmony is getting ready for Night in Bethlehem which mean my inlaws are spending every second at the church getting ready. Stephen was dying to tell them so we decided to just find them at the church yesterday to let them know. We had to tell someone because we were about to pop!! Plus that was the church where we were married so we thought it was fitting. I wanted to share the news in a creative way so we found a pack of bibs. One saying "grandma's favorite". The other saying "how can you resist this face". We wrapped them up and then headed to the church. I called Mrs. Debbie and told them to come out to the car to come get a Thanksgiving sussie I had for them. They did not think anything of it because this is pretty common for me to do. They all walked around the building and Stephen and I got out of the car. I handed Mrs. Debbie the gift bag and Chase and Mr. Mark were standing nearby. She opened the bag and looked down at the bibs, then she looked at me then looked at the bibs. She kept doing this for a good 10 seconds. Mr. Mark looked just as confused. When she looked at me again I just said "Yes!". Then she started screaming. Ha ha! Not the reaction I had expected but still so funny. Then she started leaning against the car like her legs were going to go out from under her. Then the hugs started. Mr. Mark was so funny. He said two things I will never forget, 1."I guess that means I'm old now." 2. "I thought maybe Casey had baked something!"- I am! A bun in the oven! Ha ha- they always get stuff when Im making new recipes. Chase's response was exactly what we expected. He smiled and nodded. He will be a great uncle! By the time I remembered to take a picture the guys had gone back to work but Mrs. Debbie was happy to show off the bibs with Stephen. They are all thrilled and Mrs. Debbie has already said July feels so far away. I agree! That seems like 10 years from now.

I CANNOT wait to tell my parents and Leigh this week. We are waiting since we will actually get to see them all in person for Thanksgiving. I already have something made up to surprise them with also. Can't wait to see their responses either. I will get some pictures then too.

Surprise!!!

Guess who's having a baby!?!?! We are!!! Yes, I know! We are walking around in a daze, shocked too! Ha ha! Got to love God's timing. We found out Friday 11/19/10. For the next 24 hours, we just walked around the house hardly saying two words to each other trying to take it all in. Don't get me wrong, we are thrilled but just having a hard time fully comprehending what is happening. We are doing much better now!Looks like we are due around July 29, 2011.

My practical hubby immediately started looking at the bank account and doing math. Haha! I just cried because that is apparently what I do now. Earlier this week before I took the test, I found myself crying while watching The Biggest Loser. Then I cried about the fact that I had cried over it! This is something that has continued. I cried three times this morning before we could even get to church. Haha! Poor Stephen, just looks at me and shakes his head. Sorry, babe! It has been a real joy to live with me this week ;). Hope this does not continue the whole 9 months!

Right now we are keeping it hush hush. We will not go to the doctor until January 5 (which feels like FOREVER!!) and then start spreading the good news.

This blog was started for a couple reasons. For me to document this part of our lives and keep a journal. Also so our family and friends that do not live nearby can also be apart of this journey with us. It will be set to private to protect Doodle Bug but we do not mind any family and close friends reading so just let me know if you know of anyone that needs to be added to the invite list of readers.

Doodle Bug- why this name? Well after walking around for three days calling it "it", we decided we wanted to have something else to make it more official. So, Stephen decided on Doodle (which was Chase's nickname when he was a baby). Chase did say we should name it after him, so here you go Chase :)

We will be updating regularly on all things baby. I will also try to keep up our other blog with recipes and life events.
