Week 22

How Far Along: 22 weeks!

Size of baby: papaya (8 inches and 15 oz--according to yesterdays ultrasound)

Maternity Clothes: Maternity pants all the way and of course my yoga pants. I go back and forth between regular and maternity shirts.

Gender: Aaron Marcous

Movement: Stephen finally got to feel him kick this week. Aaron even woke me up last night kicking my hand that was resting on my belly. He moves the most after lunch and then late evening.

What I miss: I am having alot of back pain this week. I could really do without that.

Sleep: I really didn't get enough this week. But Im going to do much better this week. I promise!

Symptoms: back pain and being extra tired. Also, Aaron has not been liking milk very much. I have switched to soy milk and seem to be having less problems. However, last night I did have a milk shake but that didn't stay with me very long.

Cravings: Caffeine Free Diet Dr Pepper-- I have wanted this for days. My sweet husband went to the store this morning and bought me a whole case just so I could have one. I'm drinking it now as I blog. Yum!

I did go to the doctor yesterday. My back pain had gotten worse and Aaron was not moving as much but we both got checked out and were told everything looked perfect. I am just doing too much. I had worked alot this week and then worked at home at night and not gotten enough sleep. But I went home yesterday at lunch and laid on the couch for the rest of the day. Now I'm sitting on the couch and putting my feet up again. Dr. Otey said I may keep the back pain til Aaron gets here (that seems like forever sometimes!)

Super excited that we are having our first shower next week. Can't wait to get to Louisiana to see everyone and celebrate this little boy.

The Crib!!!

So we got another big package in the mail today---the crib!! I could not believe it came so quickly. I just ordered it Sunday night. Stephen was nice enough to put it together even though he had an extra long day at school. Thanks, boo! Had to get the traditional "baby daddy putting together the crib" photos so here you go. Not the best angles but I was very comfy on the floor and did not want to get up (What?! I'm almost 6 months pregnant! Its allowed!)

He said he had to claim it for Alabama:

This is the crib that almost happened. Well, we bought it a few weeks ago. When we tried to put it together we realized we were missing some pretty important parts. Then the more Stephen worked on it the more I decided I did not like it. It was very low to the ground and just made me have a total pregnant melt down. We were able to return it and get our money back. Just wanted to include this picture to remind us about it.

Look What We Got

My Aunt sent me a giant box today full of 49 wrapped gifts!! 49!!!! There were instructions. 18 gifts can be opened any time. All at once or over the next few weeks. The last 31 are for the month of July. I can open one every day. Yea! I love presents!!! So of course, Stephen and I decided to open all 18 tonight cause we are just like that. I opened 10 and then slowed down and decided to share the joy and let Stephen open the last 8. I was sitting in the floor tearing through the paper when Stephen said "Wait, I have to get the camera. You have to put this on the blog!" Oops! I was in a present trance and almost forgot.

The first 18 goodies! Check out this stash! Its all put in his room now along with the rest of the unwrapped presents waiting for July!

21 Weeks

How Far Along: 21 weeks! (This week has been dragging to me!)

Size of baby: spaghetti squash (not really sure how big that is)- He is about 8 inches long and weighs a whole pound now

Maternity Clothes: Maternity pants all the way and of course my yoga pants. I go back and forth between regular and maternity shirts.

Gender: Boy!!

Movement: Alot! I have noticed I rarely feel him move before 10 am. He moves the most in the afternoon and late at night. He continues to kick me like crazy but as soon as Stephen puts his hand on my belly he stops. Its making Stephen so jealous!

What I miss: Nothing much this week. I have noticed it is getting more difficult to bend over and I seem to drop everything! So that really isn't much fun.

Sleep: No problems this week. Just couldn't get enough of it. Also having more nightmares about being in labor. I have decided to cut down on the baby shows that I watch. They make me anxious now.

Symptoms: Just moving a little slower. Have had some carpal tunnel pain in my arms/hands that is off and on. I have been nesting this week

Cravings: I really wanted fried okra yesterday and I still want a good tomato sandwich and fresh watermelon. I talked to my father in-law this week and told him I'm relying on his garden for my summer food cravings so he needs to plant as soon as possible.

I have been nesting this last week. Part of it is that I have been feeling better and so I actually want to get some stuff done around the house while I have some energy. Last weekend, I cleaned out all of our closets and donated items and threw away stuff. We also moved the office and guest room into one room so now Aaron actually has a room. We moved the baby bed and basinet in there and the gifts we have already gotten. Its nice to have a place to put his things and not have them all over the house.

I promise to try to get a new belly shot as soon as I look like a decent person. Hopefully before church in the morning. But to hold you over until then, here is something a took today on my iphone just for laughs:

20 weeks!

How Far Along: 20 weeks ( we are 20 weeks and 0 days today and have 20 weeks and 0 days to go!!!)

Size of baby: Large Banana- 7 inches long head to rump and weighs 11 oz

Maternity Clothes: Maternity pants all the way and of course my yoga pants. I go back and forth between regular and maternity shirts.

Gender: Boy!! Its so much more real now that we know there is a little boy in there and he has a name.

Movement: More and more every day. He is usually pretty calm in the mornings and starts moving after lunch. He is more active in the evenings. I was at work and on the floor all hunched over a couple times this week doing wound care and he kicked me really hard. He doesn't like when I don't give him the room he is used to. I have felt the kick when I have my hand resting on my belly several times. Stephen has tried several times to feel the kicks but as soon as he puts his hand on my belly Aaron gets completely still. Ha ha! Stephen just tells him he is being a stubborn child! I think its funny. Stephen really doesn't find it to be that funny.

What I miss: I really started feeling more pregnant this week. I forget sometimes that I am really growing a baby and that takes alot of energy. I hit my wall several times this week. I worked very long days and then had things to do after work too. I am off today and now Im sitting on the couch for most of the day. I have an appointment at the spa this afternoon for a pedicure and prenatal massage. I'm very excited!

Sleep: No problems this week. Just couldn't get enough of it.

Symptoms: Can't find anything that I want to eat this week. I get something that I think I want then I take my first bite and that is all I can put in my mouth. Stephen finds this just as frustrating as I do. This happened alot in the first trimester but this is the most I have dealt with it since then.

Cravings: The new sonic hotdogs! I finally had one Wednesday night. I have been talking about them for two weeks. We were sitting at sonic and my husband confessed that he had already had one two days before! He said he had been trying to find the right time to tell me! haha! Can you tell how serious I was about trying them? Good thing we don't have a sonic in Vernon anymore or I would eat them every day.

I cannot believe we are starting week 21 day! I told Stephen last night that we are now 20 weeks. He said "What?!" I said "Well, yes! Since I was 19 weeks last week then I'm 20 weeks this week." He then started to panic about getting the office cleaned out and getting the nursery ready. I'm not worried about it at all. It will get done and when Aaron gets here he really will not care if the house and nursery are not perfect.

I did get to go the New 2 U consignment show this week. New moms and expecting moms got in a day early so we we went Wednesday night. I got all 6-12 month items and mainly things for him to wear out and to church per the advice of a friends/new moms. I did get him two little swim trunks for next year. In all I got 12 items of clothing and only spent $43!! I got a pair of jeans, cargo shorts, khaki pants, overalls, several polos and a button down shirt. He is going to look like a little man. Too cute! I don't plan of buying much more until after my showers. I am going to one more consignment show in April and get to go early again since I am expecting. Its so fun to use my bargain power shopping skills to find things for Aaron. I am going to have to have a budget for him or I will get myself in trouble.

Week 19

ITS A BOY!!!!
We found out today we will be having a little boy. His name is Aaron Marcous. I don't think I will ever forget the look on Stephen's face when the ultrasound tech told us. Stephen said he has never been so proud in his life. Aaron is being named after both of his grandads. Aaron is my dad's middle name and Marcous is Stephen's dad's middle name. We are very excited but this has made it so much more real. Can't believe we are half way through already! As soon as we left the doctor's office, we ran to Walmart because my need to shop was about to kill me. We each picked up some goodies.

Stephen got Aaron his first hammer. He is so excited to have a boy to take to Lowes with him. We also picked up a Bama hoodie for him to wear this winter:
I could not resist this pack of bibs:

How Far Along: 19 weeks

Size of baby: small cantaloupe

Maternity Clothes: Maternity pants all the way and of course my yoga pants. I go back and forth between regular and maternity shirts.

Gender: Boy!!

Movement: Alot more this week!

What I miss: Nothing really this week

Sleep: Just hard to find a comfortable position

Symptoms: Still tired and other symptoms that you just don't want to know this week. Trust me!

Cravings: Apples!! Had at least one every day this week.

We had a great appointment today! I had actually lost weight! Which was fine. No problems. My blood pressure was the lowest it has been so far. Dr. Otey said I looked perfect. Aaron was measuring exactly where he should. We got to see his heart beating and see him swallowing today. We even saw his little toes. So glad Stephen got to be there today to see it all. We could not believe how big he had gotten in the last 7 weeks since our last ultrasound. I will try to get the ultrasound pictures up soon. Since he was so much bigger, there were not many profile pictures plus he was moving like crazy! (maybe from the Dr. Pepper I drank on the way there). We will go back in 4 weeks.
