12 months!

He's showing you that he is "ONE!"

Stats: 20 lb 1 oz Friday. Hes hanging out around this weight. Continues to get longer so he looks skinnier to us.

Diapers: Still size 3 and holding and still using Luvs. Now using nighttime diapers because we were soaking everything

Sleeping: Still going to bed at 7:00ish and sleeping until 6:00ish (depends on our work schedule). I am not sure if he is going to one nap a day or what but this is off this week. He had two days that he only napped once. We are not ready for that!! One morning this week he slept until 8:15. He has NEVER done that!! Think he is just trying to keep us on our toes.

Clothes: Mostly all 12 month and a few 18 month (smaller 18 month) things. Went to a size 4 in shoes this month

Eating: Really not on formula at all anymore. Drinks 2-3 bottles of whole milk a day. Eats three meals. Working on taking his milk in a sippy cup. He hasn't really decided he is on board with this yet. Foods he loves: cheese, all carbs, hummus, blue berries, cake and ice cream! He's getting picky about different textures.

Toys you love: Anything that plays music, his new piano, any app on Nonna's ipad (Elmo, sesame street, piano, mickey mouse), balls, his little car that he can ride or push around, clean diapers

Milestones this month: just started pointing, continues to give high fives, can walk holding one hand or pushing a toy, goes up and down the step into mommy and daddy's room, like to look sideways (put ear to shoulder), says "hey judeeeeee" when he sees his friend, Judah, following simple instructions (when he wants to), only uses a paci when he's in his bed (for the most part), riding in his big boy car seat

Activities: dancing, talking (babbling nonstop but it makes sense to him), screaming louder, taking things off his changing table- he will clear the same shelf 10 times a day, hiding things (clean diapers appear in weird places like his dresser and Nonna's suitcase), taking baths (sometimes he gets one just for fun and to keep him contained in one spot), swimming nekkid or just swimming period

Medical: Nothing to report this month. He has a little congestion but no ear infection or fevers.

Visitors: Nonna came to keep him for a week. Then Pops came for a short visit. Sassy came in town for his birthday. John Thomas and Callie also came through town and we met them for lunch.

Father's Day

Yesterday was Fathers Day. We actually let Stephen open his presents on Saturday because we were tired of keeping a secret.
Aaron helping take the tissue paper out of daddy's gift.

He was excited to get Big Bang Theory on DVD

He also got pictures of Aaron holding the letters to spell "dad"

I love this picture. Yes its blurry but I love how they look at each other!

Aaron's new thing is to not smile for pictures. You will see this is a pattern for this whole month. I don't have any with him smiling.
We spent the day by going to church, lunch at Cap and T's, taking a Sunday nap and then just hanging out as a family of 3

Swimming

Aaron is a lucky little boy. He has his very own pool at Nonna and Pops. Pops even filled up before we got there so it would be plenty warm for him. We tried it out one afternoon. He had to think about it for a minute but once Daddy got in with him he decided it was pretty fun.

His favorite toy was the dollar store ball. He brought it back home and still plays with it daily.

Had to protect his bald head

Mother's Day

We spent Mother's day on the road. We were in Jackson that weekend spending time with Cap, T and Sassy. We decided to go to church at a new satellite campus of a large church in the area. I love getting to go to church with my parents incognito and just worshiping not as staff members every once in a while. We decided to take Aaron into the service. He loved the music!! But only lasted about 2 minutes into the sermon. Stephen and I took him out where they had lots of couches and tvs so we could watch in the lobby. Perfect! I really had no expectations for Mothers Day so I really enjoyed it every moment just spending time as a family.

Aaron's official Mother's Day picture. This boy cracks us up!

Raising his hands during the music service

Although this moment is very fuzzy in my memory (thanks morphine), i know that its the reason I got to celebrate Mothers Day as a mommy this year. Thank you for making me a mommy, Aaron! It is so much more than I ever imagined! I wouldn't want to change a thing! (except maybe a tab bit more sleep- just saying). I love you more than you will ever know!

ZOO!!!!!

We took Aaron to the zoo. We had so much fun. Probably more fun than he did. Ha ha I had been to that zoo along time ago and we made a point of taking some of the same pictures again. So fun to share memories with your child. It opens your eyes to a whole new world of fun. Love seeing things through his eyes.

Lots to see and explore

Looking at the giraffe. He rode around like this for awhile. We had to put sunscreen on the bottoms of his feet.

He loved talking to the bear

The zoo is stinky

11 Months!

Yea!! Clap for being 11 months old!!

Stats: Somewhere close to 20 lbs  have not been weighed in awhile. Had a foot growth spurt and has out grown most of his shoes.

Diapers: Still size 3 and holding and still using Luvs.

Sleeping: Still going to bed at 7:00ish and sleeping until 6:00ish. Also he is still a two nap a day baby. The naps vary in length depending on the day.

Clothes: Mostly all 12 month and a few 18 month (smaller 18 month) things

Eating: Three seven ounce bottles a day (morning, after afternoon nap and bedtime). Eating three meals. LOVES cheese!!

Toys you love: Books, his tractor at T's, BALLS (we offically hit that little boy stage. He also can say "ba" when referring to them, he even thinks tomatoes are red balls), anything that plays music

Milestones this month: give high fives, went to big church (briefly) and loved the music, went to the zoo, had our first ER visit, first swim, first busted lip. He is also now saying- mama, dada, bob, ba (ball), boo (boudin), T, nana (banana) and nonna. Waves bye bye. Shakes his head no appropriately (and often)
Swimming at Nonna and Pops

Activities: dancing non stop if he hears music, flushing the toilets, turning on the bathtub water, eating the rocks from T's gas fireplace, throwing tantrums, following simple instructions (bring me the ball, no, etc), looking out the windows, giving kisses only when he wants to

Medical: He had another ear infection this month. Also we were kept for observation on night at Batson because he had a couple "blue" spells on Saturday. Everything checked out fine. We got to see Dr. A and Dr Salazar while there. They were both so pleased to see how well Aaron is doing. Chasing him around a crib with 5 monitor leads was not so fun. We untangled the lines 100 times in the 20 hours we were there. Aaron can now reach the monitor from the cribs there and reprogrammed his once too. We love that Aunt Sassy lives there and was at the ER within minutes of us arriving.

Childrens hospitals are not child proof

Visitors: We went to Jackson for a weekend to see Sassy, then to Alexandria, La for a wedding and to see all the Pourciaus, then to Alabama to see the Richards and Mays. We were busy buys this month and put alot of miles on that car seat.

10 Months

Stats: 18 lb 11 oz. Not sure how long but longer based on his clothes

Diapers: Still size 3 and holding and still using Luvs.

Sleeping: Still going to bed at 7:00ish and sleeping until 6:00ish. Also he is still a two nap a day baby. The naps vary in length depending on the day.

Clothes: Mostly all 12 month things now.

Eating: We are just shooting for 3-4 seven oz bottles a day now. I have given up and decided I am not constantly counting how many oz he takes in. We are doing table food three meals a day. Sometimes a snack or two. He definitely gets in dairy in at least one meal from something like yogurt or cheese. He loves cold water in his sippy cup. Drinking from a straw easily. He loves macaroni and cheese, sliced canned carrots, cheerios, hash browns (especially from Strawns), biscuits, yogurt and as always bananas.

Toys you love: Books, anything that plays music so he can dance, rubbermaid containers

Milestones this month: climbing, cruising on furniture, standing unassisted, drinking from a straw, waving bye bye, signing "more" and "all done" appropriately, understanding the word "no". We took him to a Japanese steak house for the first time. His daddy was so excited to take him. Aaron was not thrilled with it but not fearful. He also wore his first set of super hero pjs later that night. Again, his daddy was so excited and proud. He also went to the park for the first time. He was complete uninterested. He did not see the point at all and was very happy to leave. He also went into Walmart for the first time. He thought it was amazing. He just kicked back in the buggy and waved and waved at everyone that passed by like he was on a parade float.
Tokyo Steak House
First super hero pjs
First Walmart trip

Activities: belly laughing, dancing, saying dadada, climbing, trying to walk, crawling at lightening speed, throwing things into the bathtub, busting into the bathroom if he hears anyone in there (privacy- whats that?!), loving baths, standing unassisted, chasing daddy then daddy chasing him around the recliner, bubbles, reading (Good Night Moon), and still loves going outside.

Bathing with mommy's old bath toys at Gramma's

Medical: Aaron had his first ear infection. Got a double one! He spiked a fever and was just not himself on a Thursday afternoon. I took him Friday morning to see the pediatrian. I was shocked when they said he had an ear infection. It was a first time to have a normal baby sickness. I had no clue what to do with it. We spent the weekend giving tylenol, motrin and atibiotics. The antibiotics didnt work and we had to change to another but finally after a few days it all cleared up. This month he also had his last synagist shot!! Yea!!! So glad to be done and know that we should be too healthy to qualify for them next season.

Visitors: We went to Baton Rouge to see some of his great grandparents, great aunts and uncles and some of his many cousins.

9 Months

Stats: 17 lb 15 oz as of today. They tried to measure him but think it was incorrect today or the last visit. Very hard to measure a squirming 9 month old! His pants are shorter so I now he got longer again this month.

Diapers: Still size 3 and holding and still using Luvs.

Sleeping: Usually sleeping 12 hours at night. The last couple of weeks he has been waking up wanting to eat one time a night. We tried to reason with him to ask him to stop but he doesn't seem interested. Last night he slept through the night. Hoping he gets back in that habit quickly! I don't know how we went as long as we did with him getting up 3-4 times every night!

Clothes: Still wearing 9-12 month things. Moved up to 12 month Carter's pjs last week.

Eating: SHOOT ME NOW!! Boy does not want his bottle!!! Im talking wrestling, spitting, screaming, sweating, fit throwing every time. It is an all day battle to get fluids in him. He will eat solids, puffs, yogurt melts until you stop giving them to him. But bottles, no! We have tried different sippy cups, bottles, rooms, person feeding him, everything! Dr. Carroll says its a phase and he may just be getting ready for more table food and less baby food. He did have his first lunch date with Auntie Mo to El Chico. He squealed at everyone that walked by.

Is that guacamole for me!?!

Toys you love: We got out some hand me down toys out this month. More interactive. He seems to like them. This month he is loving plastic easter eggs and books alot. Also loves our bath mat. If our bathroom door is open he makes a bee line in there to sit and just pet the bath mat.

Milestones this month: Second tooth came through this week. And it was much less traumatic for all those involved. He didn't even show any symptoms until 24 hours before. Much easier. This month he has started crawling-ALL OVER THE PLACE! If he is awake, he is moving. He is also standing. It is so weird to walk into his room and he's standing up in his bed. He is pulling up on anything furniture, walls, people. He's just starting to cruise (walk while holding to furniture). Dr Carroll said he is right on track physically. Everyone seems to continue to be surprised by how well he is doing. Also, this month he started calling us "mama" and "dada" and meaning it not just mimicking or babbling it randomly. Love it. Love when he crawls toward me calling "mamamama". He had his first church and nursery visit this month. He did great. He seems to be adjusting easily to not being in isolation anymore. He was ready for the socialization.

Activities: Talking- he has gotten alot louder this month, moving, moving, moving, going outside, meeting new people.

Medical: Saw the new cardiologist this month. We were very impressed and loved only having a 10 minute drive instead of 3 hours. Aaron did great with the echo and got a great report. We go back when he's a year old. We saw Dr. Carroll today for his 9 month check up. She said he is doing great. He is now 12% on the growth chart for his weight, 25% for his length and 50% for his head (of course). We go in two weeks for his last dose of Synagist and then go for a check up once he is a year old.

Visitors: Nonna came for a week to keep Aaron while we worked. They had a blast. He was spoiled rotten! Sassy, Poppa, G, Pops and Uncle Chase were all in town for his dedication the first weekend of April.
